Sins & Authors – Interview with Chelsea M. Cameron

Sins & Authors YAY! It’s Chelsea Day! This is an awesome day for everyone folks, because there’s no one quite like Chelsea Cameron (we throw in the M or she gets mistaken for Kirk Cameron’s wife and there’s too much sex in her books for that!). HEATHEN! Anyhoo, I had the honor of meeting Chelsea when she Tiffany King and Laura Moore (Little Read Riding Hood) picked me up from the airport in Orlando back in June, for Book Bash. The next few days, I was glued to Chelsea’s side as she told me all about Maine and we marveled at how hot and flat Florida was and how everything Disney is everything awesome. Look…I have proof!

Yes. We classy.

I also have to mention that in Authors VS Bloggers on the Buzz Lightyear Shooting Game Thingy, WE WON. Take that, Kara and Laura! Authors rule, bloggers drool. And stuff.

On to the interview!

KH: All right, Chelsea…if you were to go to Disneyland (World) with a character from The Artists Trilogy, who would it be and what rides would you hit first?

CC: I feel like Camden would be more of a ride guy, but then Javier might surprise me by wanting to go on all my favorite ones. You have to stop writing such sexy men. Whichever guy I took, we’d have to do the carousel. I’m a bit of a carousel addict. And then something slow and dark we could make out on. Over and over.

KH: Well I’D play mini golf with Camden, that’s for sure. Pretty sure Javier would murder me on Space Mountain. OK, staying with this theme, name a Disney character that is the most like Javier, Camden and Ellie

CC: Camden…. maybe Aladdin? He’s from the wrong side of the tracks, but he’s always up for anything and he’s super sexy. Ellie reminds me of Belle or Mulan. They’re really the two most adventurous princesses. Especially Mulan. I mean, hello kickass awesome girl. She freaking saved China. Plus, she was always trying to run from herself and figure out who she wanted to be, and I feel like Ellie is the same way. Oh, Javier… I should say Scar or Jafar, or someone evil, but those guys always seemed gross and creepy, and Javier is not. How about Maleficent? She was gorgeous and kind of a bitch, but freaking awesome at the same time. Plus, she had minions. Or maybe the Beast? Because he’s just so misunderstood

KH: *snort*…misunderstood. Beast is WAAAY more cuddly than Javi. Though I must say, I prefer Beast in his beast form, rather than human…is that weird? OK if TAT were a movie, who would direct and who would star in it?

CC: I would have to get someone who actually knew something about beautiful cinematography, and would do the story justice, and keep the twisty and face-paced nature true. Is it weird if I say M. Night Shyamalan? Or maybe Joss Whedon. Because it’s JOSS WHEDON. I feel like Rooney Mara could make a good Ellie. And then Henry Cavill for Camden and I totally just did a google search and found Eduardo Verastegui for Javier. He’s got the PERFECT eyes. Seriously, LOOK HIM UP AND PREPARE TO SWOON.

KH: EDUARDO!!!! Yes, super swoony! And Henry for Camden…Superman in tats? DIES. *cough* Anyway. You’ve read Shooting Scars, tell peeps what they’re in for

CC: Dear GOD. I can’t even form actual words for how much I loved it and how much I love this series. The wild ride that you start in the first book continues, and gets even wilder, bumpier and sexier. I think this is the sexiest book in the series so far. I just… words…. fail….

KH: Lucky you, you’ve signed your NYT Best-Seller My Favorite Mistake to Harlequin…what’s next for you?

CC: I’m so excited and I still can’t believe it! I just finished the sequel to My Favorite Mistake, called My Sweetest Escape and it will be out on January 28, 2014. That seems like a really long time, but it will be worth the wait. I swear. I’m also working on a few more books for this year, including a New Adult that’s the first in a new series and my first Adult Contemporary, Sweet Surrendering.

KH: THE sexiest sex scene in The Artists Trilogy so far…

CC: Oh dear. How can I choose? There is a sweetness to Camden and Ellie together that I love, but the raw passion and inhibitions of Ellie and Javier are hard to top. It’s all good. Like seriously. Bleeping hot.

KH: You like the orange juice, eh? *winky face* OK, last one. You’re from Maine…what’s your “Stephen King” story, I know you’ve got one…

CC: Ha! My mom went to college with him and they graduated the same year. My mom was an art student and they hung out with the same group of friends. She went to his apartment once and it was messy, according to her. He also worked at the college newspaper, and I did as well. There’s a hilarious picture of him in the office where he’s wearing this dingy army jacket and he’s got this massive beard and his hair is super long. He looks like a hobo. We used it as inspiration.

LOVE IT! Thanks so much Chelsea!
