Sins & Authors – Interview with Kenya Wright

Sins & AuthorsIt’s Day Four of my Sins & Authors tour and we’re talking to the lovely Kenya Wright, author of Fire Baptized (seriously unique book, check it out) and the new Complicated by You, a new adult inter-racial romance. Read on to find out what’s like chocolate-covered bacon and why Kenya couldn’t have Ellie in her house.

KH: Welcome Kenya! All right, to start, can you describe Sins & Needles in five words? Because I can’t…

KW: Quentin Tarantino meets Dark Romance

KH: Oh, I like it! I keep hearing the Tarantino comparisons and I am 100% ok with that! Okay, so describe the characters Ellie Watt, Camden McQueen and Javier Bernal for people who haven’t read the series.

KW: Ellie is pretty much the perfect anti-heroine out there, Camden is a tattooed god with a big heart, Javier is the guy most women would never want to meet, but love to fantasize about when they masturbate! (Yeah. I said it. Masturbate!!)

KH: I figured you’d say something like that. Team Javier or Team Camden?

KW: Team Both. Why choose? It’s like Chocolate covered bacon!

Karina with…chocolate covered bacon…just saying

KH: Could you be friends with Ellie Watt? Why or why not?

KW: I could fuck with Ellie, but she couldn’t come in my house. If something came up missing I would be pissed and think it was her.

KW: Name a sex position, a room, an accessory and one of the characters to be your dream scenario (okay, you can use two of the characters if you want)

KW: Whatever allows for adequate access for BOTH men, in the kitchen and with a plunger.

KH: A plunger? Oh boy. What do you hope will happen by the end of the series?

KW: I hope they will all learn to love each other in one big alternative relationship.

KH: Good luck with that. If you were to be arrested what would it be for?

KW: Partaking of Mother Earth’s natural herb. . .not that I do that.

KH: If you were on the run, what would your alias be?

KW: Melanie Brownstone

KH: Favorite quote from Sins & Needles?

KW: “I’m not bad. The world is bad and I’m just trying to survive in it.” (by Ellie of course)

KH: So very Ellie. Tell me about your next book, Complicated by You.

KW: It’s a New Adult Interracial Erotic Romance set in college about a girl who is in love with her best friend to the point that she watches him and his girlfriend. . .enjoy themselves. Some things happen. She’s faced with an unsuspecting decision to participate in an alternative relationship.

KH: Sounds smexy!! Any toilet plunger scenes? Thanks for chatting, Kenya!

Kenya Wright

Kenya Wright always knew she would be famous since the ripe old age of six when she sang the Michael Jackson thriller song in her bathroom mirror. She has tried her hand at many things from enlisting in the Navy for six years as a Persian-Farsi linguist to being a nude model at an art university.

However, writing has been the only constant love in her life. Will she succeed? Of course.

For she has been coined The Urban Fantasy Queen, the Super Iconic Writer of this Age, The Lyrical Genius of Our Generation. Granted, these are all terms coined by her, within the private walls of her bathroom as she still sings the Michael Jackson thriller song.

Kenya Wright currently resides in Miami with her three amazing, overactive children, a supportive, gorgeous husband, and three cool black cats that refuse to stop sleeping on Kenya’s head at night.

Author of: A LOT OF SERIES. She’s written some NA and Adult contemporary, Adult & YA Urban Fantasy, Erotica, Dark Urban Fantasy.
